FM: Belarus is concerned about a new round of escalation in Middle East

Belarus is concerned about a new round of dangerous escalation in the Middle East and rising tensions, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said after talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of Algeria Ahmed Attaf, BelTA has learned.

“We paid a lot of attention to the current difficult international situation. Belarus is concerned about a new round of dangerous escalation in the Middle East and rising tensions. We call on the entire international community, including states and international organizations, to take measures and consolidate efforts to stabilize the situation as soon as possible,” Sergei Aleinik said.

In his words, he and his Algerian counterpart emphasized the similarity of approaches to the undeniable need to promote a peaceful settlement of the conflicts in the Gaza Strip and in Ukraine by political and diplomatic means.
