The visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Iran was indeed a turning point in relations between the two countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Belarus Alireza Sanei said on the air of the ONT TV channel on 5 November, BelTA has learned.
"I am fully convinced that Aleksandr Lukashenko's visit to Iran was a turning point in our relations. There is no doubt about it," Ambassador Alireza Sanei said.
"During the visit, the leadership of our countries repeatedly emphasized two important issues: it is important to implement all agreements and, taking into account the sanctions, the current challenges, it is crucial not to waste time," the ambassador said.
As it has been reported, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko paid an official visit to Iran in March of this year. In Tehran, the Belarusian head of state held intensive talks with the leadership of the Islamic Republic, as a result of which the parties reached many agreements. During the visit, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the main thing for Belarus and Iran now is to waste no time.
