Lukashenko: Belarusians' long-cherished dream of living in one country came true
The long-cherished dream of Belarusians came true. They live in one united country, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the patriotic forum "This is OUR History!" to mark the Day of People's Unity in Minsk on 17 September, BelTA has learned.

"We have been living on this land given to us by God for centuries. We do not want someone else's and never have. Our ancestors proved their greatness by standing tall in the face of trials while treating their neighbors with full respect. As I said, neighbors are given by God. The wisdom of life, which is passed down from generation to generation, is not to bow down to anyone, but to live by our own wits and labor. On the Day of People's Unity, we confidently say that the long-cherished dream of Belarusians has come true," Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.

"We live in the united country. From the blue ribbon of the Pripyat to the bells of Saint Sophia's in Polotsk. From the Kamenets Tower and the waves of the Neman to the majestic Dnieper and Sozh. The torch of Belarusian statehood was lit in the ancient Principality of Polotsk, and after centuries of trials and ordeals, thanks to the strength of the spirit of our ancestors, it was revived in Minsk. Under the shining sign of our unity, we are confidently stepping into the future. It will always be like that! This is OUR history!" the president said.
