Elizaveta Shikuta from Grodno was named 1st runner-up of Super Model Universe 2016 contest, that was held in Bulgaria from 1 to 5 November.
Elizaveta is a professional model, who takes part in fashion shows and poses for photo shoots. The girl was invited to take part in the competition in Bulgaria when she was participating in Miss Grodno 2016 beauty pageant.
It was Svetlana Kuznetsova, the national director of international beauty contests and Mrs Universe 2013, who offered Elizaveta to compete in Super Model Universe:
“Before the competition, we instructed her about everyday clothes and outfits for special occasions.
We didn’t need to teach Elizaveta how to walk down the runway, pose and do the make-up, because she is a very experienced model already and she advise anyone about these things herself.”
Elizaveta Shikuta is a student of Yanka Kupala University in Grodno where she majors in law. The girl also works as a shop assistant.
She says she is not upset with the runner-up title and wants to use it to change something about her life.
“I think I’ll quit my job in the near future to concentrate on modelling. In fact, I have received a lot of offers after the competition, and I’m considering them. I will not stop after the Bulgarian contest”, the girl told the Belarusian media.
Representatives of over 30 countries competed for the title, which went to a model from Australia.
In the male part, Belarus was represented by Andrey Ladonka from Bobruisk. The victory in that category went to a contestant from India, who is a well-known TV presenter and actor in his home country.
The contest Super Model Universe was created to find new faces for the world’s runways. Its winners will get contracts with well-known model agencies.
By the way, last year another model from Belarus, Ekaterina Chernyak, ranked in Top 5 of the popular model competition.
