Belarus needs a Russian loan of two billion dollars for restructuring its foreign debt.

Belarus government’ vice-Prime Minister Piotr Prakapovich told about that at a press-conference in Minsk on Friday, PRIME reports.

Earlier the head of Russia’s Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov reported that Russia was discussing the possibility of issuing an interstate loan of 2 billion dollars to Belarus. The loan may be needed if Belarus fails to carry out the privatization of state property for the planned 2.5 billion dollars.

"Yes. We take foreign loans in order to ensure the stability in the economy. This and next year we are facing peak foreign debt payments. We would want to restructure this debt", - Prakapovich said. "Naturally, in order to make the payments we will partly borrow something", - he added

According to his data, there are no principled objections between the parties on the Russian loan. The vice-Prime Minister explained that the difficulty is that there has been no spending provided for that loan in Russian budget.
