"We will never sell the controlling interest of Belaruskali", said the First Vice Premier of Belarus Uladzimir Siamashka on May 15.
According to Mr. Siamashka, it would be a crime against the nation, reports BelTA.
Mr. Siamashka has also mentioned that there are no current talks about selling Belaruskali to Indian Potash Ltd, a company that was interested to buy Belaruskali or to conclude a long-term contract with the Belarusian party.
Meanwhile, Aliaksandr Lukashenka voiced willingness to sell Belaruskali for $30—32bn on May 8.
"We are ready — I repeat it again — to sell even Belaruskali which is 70—100% profitable. But this is the question of price. And we told the price: today it’s not $30bn, but $32bn. If you are interested, so come. But there are no interested [in acquisition]. Well… let it be so. The enterprise operates, employees receive salaries, we sell potash fertilizers better than any company in the world".
