Russian delegation headed by Deputy Transport Minister Valery Okulov and head of Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko on April 9 to arrive in Minsk for consultations with the aeronautical authorities of Belarus.
As the press service of Russian Ministry of Transport informs, Transport Minister Igor Levitin is concerned with the fact that Belarus plans from April 13 to unilaterally limit the flights of Russian airlines on the route Moscow-Minsk-Moscow with a frequency of four flights a week.
According to the head of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, during the summer period, the passenger traffic between Russia and Belarus increased almost twofold, and such decision of the Belarusian aviation authorities "to a great degree infringes the rights of passengers, especially on the eve of Victory Day".
Vice-Premier of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin in order to resolve the situation has agreed on the continuation date of Russian-Belarusian consultations on this issue. Thus, the negotiations should continue on April 9 in Minsk.
Igor Levitin believes, "the parties can come to a mutually acceptable solution in the interests of air passengers of the two countries".
