December 27, Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich demanded to better control consumer prices. Head of Government announced its demand during the meeting of the Council of Ministers. The Belarusian Prime Minister also stressed the need to remove price distortions on some goods.
The Prime Minister notes that in some regions prices of the same goods vary greatly. For example, in Hrodna, milk prices have increased 1.5-fold, while in Homel they have risen twice, BelTA informs.
"The relevant ministries and services of regional executive committees should keep track of these issues in principle and address the imbalances," said Mikhail Miasnikovich.
"Apart from the earlier decision, Rumas and Snopkov should be instructed to urgently prepare monthly control charts of marginal changes in consumer prices for groups of goods and services in regions to keep the inflation rate within 19-22% in 2012," said the Prime Minister.
In 2012 the Ministry of Finance expects the inflation rate to reach 19-22%.
