Deputy Energy Minister of Russia, Yuri Sentyurin reported on December 6 that in 2012 Russia plans to keep oil supplies to Belarus at the current level. According to him, he had no information about the possible increase in supplies. According to the plans of the Russian side, it’s going to deliver 21 million tons of oil to Belarus next year.
"We will be guided by the previously approved indicative balance", RIA-Novosti quoted Russian Deputy Minister.
Meanwhile, back on November 23, Yuri Sentyurin said that Russia was ready to increase oil supplies to Belarus up to 23 million tons in 2012.
Then, Russia's Deputy Minister of Energy noted that the common economic space and the full-fledged Customs Union contributed to the facilitation of decision-making on such issues as procedures for harmonizing the supply had been considerably simplified. The matter will be decided at the state level on January 1 with the beginning of the Customs Union Commission.
During his working trip to Brest voblast on December 2, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko did not rule out the possibility of reducing the price of Russian oil. According to the President, it is possible when the appropriate arrangements with local partners have been achieved.
