Trade Surplus Amounted to $153.2 Million

Belarus’ foreign trade deficit in goods and services amounted to 1.89 billion in January-September 2011, which is 56.5% less than the same period last year, according to the statistics report on Belarus. In September, the foreign trade balance was positive and amounted to $153.2 million after a surplus of $120.3 million in August and $368.5 million in July.

The balance of foreign trade in January-September 2011 was negative, amounting to $3.46 billion, which is 38% less than the same period in 2010. In particular, the trade in services was positive and amounted to $1.56 billion (27.5% more than in January-September 2010).

The foreign trade turnover of goods and services increased for the first 9 months of 2011 by 48.9% to $68.89 billion. Exports of goods and services increased by 59.9% to $33.49 billion, while imports - by 39.8% to $35.39 million.

Trade surplus of Minsk organizations was positive and amounted to $835.5 million for the first nine months of the year. During the same period in 2010 the figure was minus $2.4 billion, while in January-August 2011 - plus $519.1 million.
