"Gazprom" CEO Aleksei Miller told about plans of his holding company concerning Ukraine and Belarus.
As said by Aleksei Miller, the company is not going to decrease volume of deliveries to Ukraine next year, "Echo of Moscow" radio informs.
Miller noted that recently Kyiv once again effected payment of deliveries for September fully and on time. As for Belarus, "Gazprom" is not going to change earlier achieved agreements about gas prices in 2010. He reminded that the sides agreed on gradual price increase.
As it has been informed before, the Belarusian side asked to freeze the prices for Russian gas in 2010 at the level of 2009.
A day before Uladzimir Syamashka, deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, told that Minsk negotiates with "Gazprom" to avoid price hike in 2010. As said by Uladzimir Syamashka, Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski has ordered the country’s energy minister Alyaksandr Azyarets to hold talks with "Gazprom" and draw the monopoly’s attention to "force majeure events that have arisen amid the crisis," Mr. Syamashka noted.
A five-year contract was signed with Gazprom on December 31, 2006, for gas deliveries and transit in 2007-2011. The price for Belarus was raised to $100 per 1000 cubic meters for 2007 compared with $46.68 in the previous two and a half years. The price was to gradually increase to the European market level by 2011. It was to be 67 percent of the level, excluding delivery costs, in 2008, 80 percent in 2009, 90 percent in 2010, and 100 percent in 2011.
