Oman is open to our country and ready to promote our goods and services, Belarusian Ambassador to Egypt with concurrent accreditation to Oman Sergei Terentyev told the media, BelTA has learned.
“Oman is an interesting country, which is open to us. This is a country with a balanced foreign policy, wonderful people and amazing culture. Belarus and Oman exchanged Days of Culture regularly before the pandemic. I hope this practice will be resumed. I also hope that very soon Belarusian tourists will be able to reach this country by air,” Sergei Terentyev said.
According to him, despite the fact that Oman is a small country, with a population of 5 million, it can play a major role of a gateway to the region for Belarus. “The residents of Oman are very good, respected, mobile merchants. They are ready to work with us to promote our goods and services. This is both their and our interest. Oman, like Belarus, is a member of the North-South transport corridor. We have great opportunities here. I think that the visit of the Belarusian head of government will help us open new prospects. We have a lot of work to do here. I think Belarusians, both businessmen and tourists, will like this country very much,” the ambassador said.
On 13-14 October, the Belarusian head of government is on an official visit to Oman. He is scheduled to meet with the Crown Prince of Oman and the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said, and Chairman of the State Council AbdulMalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili. A significant package of documents is expected to be signed during the visit.
On 15-16 October, Roman Golovchenko will pay a working visit to Pakistan. The Belarusian prime minister is set to held a number of high-level meetings. The Belarusian head of government is expected to take part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
