Belarus, Kyrgyzstan to advance cooperation in transportation by rail

Belarus and Kyrgyzstan will advance cooperation in the sphere of railway transport, the Belarusian Railways press service told BelTA.

Belarusian Railways and NK Kyrgyz Temir Zholu [Kyrgyz Railways] have signed a memorandum on advancing cooperation in the sphere of railway transport. The Kyrgyz railway company also signed a memorandum on designing railway facilities with the Belarusian state enterprise Belzheldorproyekt Institute.

The documents were signed as a Kyrgyz delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev visited Belarus. While in Belarus the delegation also visited the operations control center of Belarusian Railways. The meeting focused on discussing possible avenues of business cooperation.

First Deputy Head of Belarusian Railways Piotr Dulub remarked that the operations control center is the key body coordinating shipments and the operation of all divisions of Belarusian Railways. Piotr Dulub presented information about the manufacturing potential of Belarusian Railways. Bakyt Torobaev stressed great interest in cooperation with Belarusian Railways in implementing infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan and in organizing multimodal transportation.

The Brest branch of Belarusian Railways, the Belzheldorproyekt Institute, the engineering and technology center of Belarusian Railways, OAO Brest Electrotechnical Plant, OAO Dorstroimontazhtrest, the Borisov railway sleeper treating plant presented their manufacturing and technological capabilities before the guests from Kyrgyzstan.

Apart from that, the Kyrgyz delegation visited the Osipovichi reinforced-concrete structures plant of OAO Dorstroimontazhtrest and the Osipovichi transport machinery plant.
