The Belarusian economy maintains growth momentum and is expanding month by month, Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Kartun told journalists commenting on the country's economic performance in January-July 2023, BelTA has learned.
“The economy has come close to the so-called target trajectory. We expect the target of a 3% GDP growth to be reached in 9 months. There is a low base effect across some industries. All in all, we see that the economy is not losing momentum and is growing monthly,” Andrei Kartun said.
Speaking about the economic outlook for 2023, he noted that there are no grounds to believe that the GDP growth target of 3.8% will not be achieved. “It is feasible. But a lot depends on how the external situation develops,” the deputy minister added.
