Belarusian export to Russia up 1.4 times
The export of Belarusian products to Russia has increased by 1.4 times, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik said in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“Export to the Russian Federation went up by 1.4 times, which is a very good result for the Belarusian industry in general. For the first time in history, we have got a positive economic balance in relations with Russia,” said Piotr Parkhomchik. “With a number of foreign companies leaving this market, a number of opportunities opened up for the industrial enterprises of Belarus. We were able to quickly redirect exports from the Ukrainian market to the market of the Russian Federation, which is ready to consume everything we produce.”

As for oil and gas prices, the deputy prime minister noted that today there is a clear position on the cost of the main energy raw materials from Russia. “Now we firmly know that we will have comfortable conditions within the next three years. Given the conditions that are offered today for business in Europe or neighboring countries, of course, we have a very big competitive advantage,” he said.

Speaking about the movement of Belarusian products through Russia, Piotr Parkhomchik said that the Russian Federation has met Belarus halfway to provide the country with several directions. “The logistics in terms of time and distance have increased, but as part of the agreements, the Russian Federation has offered great prices for the movement of our goods. Due to this difference our product has not lost its competitiveness,” he concluded.
