Rapeseed harvesting nearly completed in Belarus
Belarusian agricultural workers have gathered in rapeseed from 99.5% of the area under this crop, the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.

Belarusian agricultural enterprises have harvested cereals and leguminous crops (including maize) from 2.166 million hectares, which is 87.8% of the targeted area. Progress was at 89.1% (358,200ha) in Brest Oblast, 98.3% (351,400ha) in Vitebsk Oblast, 84.2% (351,700ha) in Gomel Oblast, 87.4% (311,600ha) in Grodno Oblast, 84.6% (457,200ha) in Minsk Oblast, and 85.1% (336,800ha) in Mogilev Oblast.

Maize has been harvested from an area of 4,590ha, producing 32,600 tonnes with the average yield at 71 centners per hectare. Rapeseed has been harvested from an area of 357,300ha (99.5% of the area under this crop), producing 904,800 tonnes with the average yield at 25 centners per hectare.

Millet has been harvested from an area of 10,300ha (86.4% of the area under this crop), producing 22,300 tonnes with the average yield at 21.7 centners per hectare. Buckwheat has been harvested from an area of 29,500ha (85.2% of the area under this crop), producing 40,000 tonnes with the average yield at 13.6 centners per hectare.

Sugar beet has been harvested from 12,100ha, which makes up 13.2% of the targeted area. Potatoes have been harvested from 7,760ha (29.8% of the target area). Other vegetables have been harvested from 2,650ha or 39.1% of the targeted area.

In 2022 the government intends to buy 811,400 tonnes of cereals.
