Belarus is fully self-sufficient in food, Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vadim Shagoiko said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
"We have long been working to expand the range of products. Belarus has long ensured its food security. Now the major goal is to step up export to neighboring countries," Vadim Shagoiko said. “If we turn to figures, Belarus is 36th in the world in terms of food security. We are 94% self-sufficient in general and 100% - in terms of grain, potatoes, milk, meat. "
Belarusian manufacturers have been continuously expanding the product lineup. "We manufacture a wide range of both dairy and meat products. We meed the demands of most discerning buyers. Our technologists constantly study consumer taste preferences, attend all kinds of forums, exhibitions, study foreign innovations," the deputy minister said.
