Belarus has reached a deal about the supplies of oil from Poland, Polish Ambassador in Minsk Artur Michalski said in an interview with Belarus 1 TV channel broadcast on 3 May.
The diplomat stressed that Poland understands Belarus' need in the diversification of energy sources.
"We know that Belarus is also in talks with the Baltic and other countries about possible transit routes. Poland would like to be part of the energy diversification process in Belarus,” the ambassador said.
He stressed that Polish investors increasingly show interest in Belarusian industries, especially the furniture industry, agriculture and IT sector.
“There is a positive trend in terms of economic cooperation between our countries - more than $3 billion in mutual trade every year. The neighboring market is very convenient. People understand each other well, as our languages are similar. In general, there are many points that contribute to the development of bilateral relations. Interest is growing,” said Artur Michalski.
He added that Belarus and Poland have recently understood how important the good neighborly relations between the countries are. “We are connected by roots in different areas and dimensions. Our neighborhood is not a threat, but a chance,” the Polish Ambassador said.
