Decree #3 “On Prevention of Social Dependency” will soon be signed by the head of Belarus.

“The revised version of the decree number 3 has been presented to the head of state,” the state news agency belta.by learned from the spokesman for the Prime Minister Uladzislau Sychevich.

In August 2017, Lukashenka spoke of the need to improve the scandalous decree which has cause outrage among the unemployed.

“Society needs to know that there will be no termination of the Decree #3 whatsoever. I have already explained the matter: there are at least half a million people out of work in Belarus. Of these, 200 thousand will not have to pay the duty: households with multiple children, the sick, the disabled, people who can and want to work, but are not able to do it due to life circumstances. But the remaining 300 thousand people. Where are they? Therefore Decree #3 will affect the 300 thousand of those who have to work, but does not work. And we have to make them work. That’s the whole ideology,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said during a meeting on August 3.

On March 9th, Lukashenka ordered to suspend the decree for a year after the protests that took place in different regions of Belarus.
