Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei said that Belarus should intensify the process of accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
“We must try to remove the majority of the barriers and obstacles to the promotion of our products in all markets. We must step up (and we are actively working on it), the process of our country’s accession to the World Trade Organization. This is important for the economic image of our country and to ensure that we can act on the unified rules that exist within the WTO framework, which includes most of the world,” he said in an interview with TV channel ‘Belarus 1’ according to BelTA.
Makei also noted the importance of using the favorable situation on foreign markets. This year already, Belarus has increased the export for almost $ 2 billion, or 23%.
“But that does not mean that we should relax. This is taking place partly because there is price growth happening in the world. The challenge now is to increase the physical volume of exports,” he said.
