The Belarusian Council of Ministers has cancelled the restrictions imposed on the export of fuel. The corresponding decree (#526 of July 1) will come into force on September 1, 2016. It has been published on the national legal portal this Thursday.
The previous decree will be abolished. The State Customs Committee and the State Border Committee will have to put their standard acts in correspondence with the decree mentioned above.
The restrictions on the export of fuel from the Belarusian territory were imposed in autumn 2011. Our petrol used to cost much less than in, say, Lithuania. Both Belarusians and Lithuanians were taking it abroad. However, the government restricted the possibility of leaving the Custom Union in the same car to once in 8 days. Otherwise, drivers had to pay a customs duty for their petrol.
