Russia has not decided to decrease the gas prices for Belarus yet, Deputy Chairman-Mgmt Board at Gazprom PAO Andrei Kruglov told journalists in Minsk on March 25.
The Russian company is sticking to the existing intergovernmental agreement and contract, he said. “The two sides keep consulting,” he added. “Our Belarusian colleagues expressed a desire to get gas at a lower price but no decision has been made yet. This, we are sticking to the existing agreements and contracts,” BelaPAN quotes Kruglov.
The Belarusian government expects to get a discount for Russian gas this year. Vice PM Uladzimir Syamashka and his Russian counterpart Arkadi Dvorkovich negotiated in Moscow on March 2. Belarus is asking Russia for a gas discount, Kommersant reported.
