Belarus National Statistical Committee has recorded a decline in GDP.
In the first ten months of 2015, the GDP amounted to 716.525 trillion rubles (about $ 40.038 trillion). This is 3.9% less compared to the same period last year.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the volume of production in January-October fell by 7.1%, and the volume of agricultural production – by 3.9%. In particular, production of potatoes decreased, but milk production increased.
Alarming state of affairs in the Belarusian economy is also confirmed by the fluctuation of the ruble, which recently crossed the psychological barrier: some exchange offices changed the dollar rate to 18 thousand rubles.
In these circumstances, the head of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka is trying to get a stabilization loan from the International Monetary Fund.
