On Monday, Belarus Head of State met with Prime Minister. They discussed the situation in the Belarusian economy.
On June 1, Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with Prime Minister Andrei Kabyakou. The Head of State was interested in the current situation in the Belarusian economy. He noted that "while we threw away the currency before, "burnt" gold and money reserves, now we are replenishing them." According to Lukashenka, both legal and natural persons exchange foreign currency.
At the same time, said the Head of State, it does not mean we need to move away from "hard policy". We have two months remaining before the actual result should be presented, stressed Lukashenka. "We cannot leave people out of work. Otherwise, the people will find that state unnecessary," said Lukashenka.
Andrei Kabyakou said that this year our country has managed to ensure a calm situation in the foreign exchange market.
Mr Kabyakou: "Based on the results of the four months of the gross domestic product growth, we have now the rate of 97,4%. This is the price we had to pay for taking measures to stabilize the situation on the domestic and the foreign exchange market. They brought results. We have a calm, controlled, predictable situation in the domestic foreign exchange market, we have a normal situation with the prices."
During the meeting, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that in the near future he will personally inspect how fodder is amassed in the country.
