Deputy Minister of Sport Mihail Kravets blames the fact that the decree was approved without the agreement of the Ministry of Sport.
Travel agencies were forbidden to accept foreign currency and the fact has negatively affected their work in Belarus, deputy Minister of Sport Mihail Kravets said at a press conference in Minsk on April 8.
The decision was taken without the Ministry of Sport, the official said. However, such documents must be approved only after they are discussed with the interested parties or it will do harm to the industry, The decision was reconsidered later and travel agencies were allowed to accept foreign currency on account, Kravets noted.
It was forbidden to use foreign currency to pay for tourism services in Belarus on March 1. The ban was imposed by the National Bank.
