As of October 21st, the limit for duty free import of goods for personal use by international mail will be increased from EUR 120 to EUR 200.
As a result, Belarusians will buy more goods on foreign web-sites, the assortment of goods will expand, the demand on non-cash foreign currency will increase, and payments outside Belarus might increase substantially. However, the postal services might not be prepared for an increase in parcels’ volume, which may affect the processing speed of the mail traffic and transfers abroad. Consequently, the limit might be revised once again.
