Belstat: Nearly 20% enterprises unprofitable in Belarus

On the outcomes of the operations in January-February 2014 1543 organizations turned out to be unprofitable, which comprises 19.3% of the total number.

This is reported by the National Statistics Committee. In January-February 2013 1057 organizations suffered losses, which accounts for 13.2%.

The amount of net losses of the unprofitable organizations in January-February 2014 amounts to 3.8 trillion roubles or 2.1 times more that in January-February 2013, AFN reports.

The largest share of the total number of unprofitable organizations is in Minsk – 22.7%, the smallest – in Mahilou region – 8.7%

The largest share of unprofitable enterprises is in fishing and fish breeding – 73.7%, in industry – 29.1%, in transport – 27.2%, in hotel and restaurant business – 20.1% and construction – 19.3%

The smallest share of unprofitable enterprises is in education – 1.5% and communications – 4.4%.

In 2013 752 organizations were unprofitable (9.1% of the total number), the amount of their net losses accounted to 8.8 trillion roubles (2.6 times more than in 2012).
